Day Fifty Seven - Middle age has kicked in ๐Ÿ˜

Week nine has officially started ... and as usual I was in the kitchen at 8 a.m. I didn't have a lot on today ... just a curry, rice and bread ... but what you forget is that you need to butcher the lamb also ... ๐Ÿค”

It was a pretty good morning in the kitchen with my curry turning out "on point" (one of Roryโ€™s favourite phrases) ... I probably should have tried to do something extra also but let's just say ... it was a Monday ๐Ÿ˜ด

I was on bread duty today so I knocked up a brown yeast bread again and then I was on hens bucket duty!

Tomorrow I am on Guest lunch duty ... to look after any guests that join for lunch (poor guests) ๐Ÿ˜

The afternoon demo was with Rachel and it was focused on Pasta ... lots and lots of pasta!

  • Homemade pasta
  • Marcella Hazan's Pappardelle or Noodles,
  • Chicken Liver Sauce
  • Ragu
  • Lasagne Verde

  • Cannelloni, Cream Sauce
  • Marcella Hazan's Tortellini, Parsley, Ricotta, Alfredo Sauce
  • Tomato and Cream Sauce to serve with Cappelletti
  • Gillian Hegartyโ€™s Ravioli with Sage Butter
  • Fettuccine Alfredo, Broad Beans, Leaves or Fresh Peas and Blossoms
  • Italian Green Salad, Rocket Leaves
  • Tira Misu
  • Zabaglione Ice-Cream
  • Italian Fruit Salad
  • Walnut Cake, American Frosting

After demo and the usual filing stint some of the younger guys decided to play some football ... I for some unexplainable reason decided to join them ... for the first time I experienced what it was like when your brain is doing something and your body isnโ€™t ... (well not quite the first time but you get the idea ๐Ÿ’ก) Tomorrow is going to really hurt! ๐Ÿ˜

Speaking of tomorrow ... I am making pasta ... cappelletti and a zabaglione semi freddo! This could be interesting ๐Ÿ˜‡
