The struggles of an eternally UNFULFILLED wannabe Baker / Cook !

In 2018 I left the world of finance and embarked on a journey through the world of food. This journey took me to the famous Ballymaloe Cookery School (Cork, Ireland) , to the wonderful vineyards of “Clau de Nell” (Loire Valley, France) and to the lush green olive groves of Kerkyra (Corfu, Greece). After living the “food lovers” dream for three “short” years … reality bites!

In 2021 with the Pandemic in full swing and the hospitality industry under severe pressure I made a tough decision to return to finance and put long term food dreams temporarily on hold!

No regrets & No half measures!!!

A little more about me …

I have lived in a few European countries so far ... Ireland (by birth), Luxembourg (by choice), Norway (by chance), Netherlands (???) and Greece (by decree)

My food influences are truly global, from French country bread and pastries, to Spanish tapas, Indian chutneys and to Greek & Middle Eastern meze and of course BBQ!

My intention for this site (and my Instagram account ) is to share what I manage to make (at the weekends these days) from my far too small & packed kitchen in Luxembourg.

You will see plenty of home made bread experiments to complicated dessert fails (I hide most of these) and efforts (in vain) to make the perfect birthday cake! … all part of a broader plan…

You may also come across some of my favourite recipes from my ever growing cookbook collection (currently stands at approx. 1,500 !!!)
